Air source heat pump installers in Heywood
Published and last updated 15 October 2026
Homeowners in Heywood can get £7,500 off an air source heat pump through the Boiler Upgrade Scheme, or £9,000 if the home is off the gas grid and heated by oil or LPG, as long as an MCS-certified installer fits it. We match Heywood homes with up to three MCS-certified installers covering OL10 postcodes so you can compare quotes.
How much is the heat pump grant in Heywood?
The grant in Heywood is the same as anywhere in England: £7,500 for an air-to-water heat pump, £9,000 for eligible off-gas homes until 31 March 2027, and £2,500 for air-to-air.
Heywood is largely on mains gas, so most homes qualify for the standard £7,500 grant; outlying farms and cottages without mains gas may qualify for £9,000 if they heat with oil or LPG.
Do homes in Heywood suit a heat pump?
Heywood's Victorian terraced streets around the town centre and its interwar, post-war and newer family homes can all take heat pumps. Terraces usually have back-yard space for the outdoor unit, and solid walls make careful radiator sizing important.
Is there extra funding in Heywood?
Rochdale borough is covered by the Greater Manchester Warm Homes: Local Grant, which can fund a heat pump and insulation for eligible low-income households through the GMCA Retrofit Portal.
